In 2007 REACT established partnership with Russian law firm Shevyrev & Partners and so extended its activities to Russia. Shevyrev & Partners specialize in the full scale IPR protection activities with a strong accent to trade marks, while being involved in other assortment of general legal issues for its clients.   The bureau has a well established cooperation with all major law enforcement institutions: The Federal/ State Customs, The Economic crime police, Market protection police, State Trade Inspectorate and the Russian Health care authorities. In 2015 React introduced a second partner in Russia – IP Novus Law Firm to meet the demands of REACT members and to have even stronger representation in the Russian market. IP Novus specialises in the intellectual property protection and enforcement and has coverage throughout Russia using a network of 30 associated attorneys.

Country Procedures

  • Customs application procedure is in place and it is mandatory for the customs to ispect suspect shipments
  • Customs also act ex-officio in Russia
  • Customs application is valid for the period of 1 year with the option for renewal each year
  • Following the suspension of counterfeit goods, an administrative or criminal case is started depending on the amount of damage caused
  • Customs notification must be responded within 10 business days
  • Administrative or criminal action may also be initiated with police against the traders in counterfeit goods
